Watford youngster Adam Thompson has put pen-to-paper on a professional contract at Vicarage Road.
The 18-year-old defender has signed a deal that will keep him at the club until 2013, having been with the Hornets since the age of 11.
Thompson has only made one appearance for Watford this season, in the Carling Cup against Notts County, but is regarded as a hot prospect by manager Malky Mackay.
The teenager told the club's official website: "It's the best feeling in the world - I've been waiting for this ever since I was a kid, I've had a few disappointments along the way but hopefully this is just the start."
Thompson was also quick to praise the coaches who have aided his development at the club.
He added: "I came on massively in that period and that was the major thing that helped me really to get this contract."
