Walsall have confirmed that Watford target Troy Deeney has handed in a transfer request at the Banks's Stadium.
The Hornets have failed with four bids to sign the 22-year-old striker, with the most recent offer thought to be around £375,000.
The Saddlers insisted they were not interested in selling Deeney, but their stance may change after the player revealed his desire to leave the club.
A statement on Walsall's official website read: "Walsall football club can confirm that a written transfer request has been submitted by the representatives of Troy Deeney.
"This is currently being considered by manager Chris Hutchings.
"The club will be making no further comment at this stage."
