Midfielder commits to Watford

Watford midfielder John Eustace has penned a new two-year contract at Vicarage Road. The 30-year-old's previous deal was set to expire this summer and Hornets manager Malky Mackay had been worried he may lose his charge for nothing. The former Stoke ace had been trailed by Leeds last summer but has been rewarded for his fine form this term. Eustace was named Players' Player of the Year at Watford last term having made 42 appearances in the Championship, helping Watford narrowly avoid the drop in the process. "I'm delighted to have re-signed John," Mackay said. "The way he has conducted himself last season is a credit to himself and he was outstanding for us in the Championship. "There was interest elsewhere but I'm very pleased he's decided to stay and that he feels Watford is the best place for him to flourish." Eustace joined Watford in January 2008 from Stoke for £250,000.
