Roma have sealed a deal to keep highly-rated full-back Marco Motta.

Right-back stays in Eternal City

Roma have sealed a deal for highly-rated full-back Marco Motta. The 23-year-old joined the club on an initial loan basis from Udinese last season. Motta impressed hugely and even landed a call-up to the Italy squad in March. Now as part of the deal Roma have bought half of his rights for £3million. Meanwhile, Fiorentina are understood to be considering a move for midfielder Rodrigo Taddei. "The Viola like Rodrigo, but Roma also consider him to be an important player," his agent, Alessandro Lucci, revealed. "Certainly with the situation Roma are going through at the moment, it's not a deal we can do now." Taddei joined Roma from Siena in 2005. Another player unsure of his long-term future in the Eternal City is Matteo Brighi - who is waiting on contract talks. "For now, there hasn't been a meeting between ourselves and Roma because at the moment the club are defining the passage of ownership," his agent Vanni Puzzolo said. "I believe that this is the reason for the meeting's delay. Everything will be sorted out when we meet and speak about Matteo's future. "The situation is on stand-by until the settlement of the new owner is officially announced."
