Watford have signed Don Cowie from Inverness Caledonian Thistle on a two-and-a-half-year deal.
The Hornets agreed a nominal fee with the Scottish club and Cowie put pen to paper after agreeing personal terms and passing a medical.
Former Ross County player Cowie would have been available on a free transfer in the summer but Brendan Rodgers was keen to secure his services for the remaining months of the season.
The midfielder, who was left out of the Inverness squad for Sunday's draw with Celtic, scored 12 goals in 56 appearances for Caley Thistle.
Rodgers has bolstered his squad further on transfer deadline day by bringing in Latvian winger Aleksandrs Cauna from Skonto Riga.
The 21-year-old Cauna, who was previously on trial at Chelsea, moves to Vicarage Road on loan for the remainder of the season.
