Watford teenager Jordan Parkes has signed a three-year contract extension at Vicarage Road.
Parkes, who has missed much of this season with a broken metatarsal, has been rewarded by manager Adrian Boothroyd.
The defender made two appearances in the Carling Cup in August before suffering his foot injury after being called into the England Under 19s squad.
Meanwhile, Hornets striker Tamas Priskin was delighted to mark his first start in the Championship in over three months with the winning goal against Colchester United on Tuesday night.
The Hungarian told Nemzeti Sport: "I'm very happy that I scored a goal and it also makes me feel good that, after three defeats and a draw, we managed to win again.
"There's a long and unsuccessful period behind me. I haven't scored in the league since April, even the biggest stars can have a goalless period like this, so I wasn't worried too much, although I feel better now.
"The hardest thing is to score your first goal, then it becomes an easier job to score the following ones. I hope that our manager will put me into the line-up again on Sunday against Stoke."
