Striker agrees contract extension

Darius Henderson has signed a new Watford contract to tie him to the club until 2011. The Hornets striker scored his first goal of the season in Saturday's 2-0 win over Ipswich and Henderson has now shown his commitment to the club. Henderson's Watford future has been the subject of some speculation and the 25-year-old turned down a possible move to Preston. However, Henderson has now admitted his delight at securing the new deal. "It's nice to finally put pen-to-paper," Henderson told Watford's official website. "I am delighted, hopefully I can carry on where I left off on Saturday by scoring goals.

Promotion form

"All the speculation is in the past now, I'm just looking forward to giving my all for Watford. "We've got nine points out of a possible 12, so at the moment we are in promotion form. "As long as we can maintain that form I'm sure everyone involved with Watford football club will be delighted."
