Championship table toppers Cardiff City have signed Watford full back James Chambers on a month's loan.

The 25-year-old right back has struggled to establish himself in The Hornets' Premiership team this season and has not played in nearly two months.

He has therefore moved to the Welsh capital in search of regular first team football at Ninian Park.

With Kevin McNaughton hamstrung, Chambers could now make his debut for The Bluebirds in Saturday's trip to take on Peter Taylor's Crystal Palace.

He has made 93 senior appearances for the Vicarage Road outfit since moving to Hertfordshire from West Bromwich Albion in August 2004.

But boss Adrian Boothroyd has started him in just two games so far this season and he is hoping to return and re-establish himself in the side when the loan spell ends on November 11.
