Hornets make first summer signing

WATFORD have confirmed the signing of goalkeeping starlet Scott Loach from Lincoln City.

Watford have confirmed the signing of goalkeeping starlet Scott Loach from Lincoln City.

The highly-rated 18-year-old spent the tail-end of the 2005/2006 campaign training at Watford and signed on the dotted line on Thursday to confirm his status as Aidy Boothroyd's first signing as a Premiership manager.

Loach enjoyed the taster of life at Vicarage Road and is keen to continue his footballing development there.

"I couldn't have asked for a better start when I came here," Loach told the official Watford website.

"The lads really made me feel welcome and I already feel like I've been here for a whole season.

"I had a great time at Lincoln and they've still got some really good players but the organisation and professionalism here have really impressed me.

"It's my ultimate goal to play in goal for England and I think that coming to Watford will help me to achieve that."
