Hornets land young Imp

Lincoln City goalkeeper Scott Loach has agreed to join Watford next season.

Lincoln City goalkeeper Scott Loach has agreed to join Championship high-flyers Watford for next season.

The 17-year-old custodian will join The Hornets for an undisclosed fee in the summer after impressing the Vicarage Road club while on trial this week.

Despite attracting interest from a number of clubs, Loach has opted to sign a professional deal with Adrian Boothroyd's side once the current season comes to an end.

"Scott is 17-years-old and has all the attributes required to be a top-notch goalkeeper," said Lincoln boss Keith Alexander told the club's official website.

"His sale to Watford is another fillip for the youth set-up."

Meanwhile, Lincoln utility man Matthew Bloomer has extended his loan with Nationwide Conference club Cambridge United until the end of the month.

Bloomer joined Cambridge back in early March.
