Leeds United have denied reports that Championship rivals Watford have made a bid for midfielder Matthew Spring.

The 25-year-old has fallen down the pecking order at Elland Road, having yet to appear for The Whites this new Championship season.

The former Luton Town man was reportedly linked with a £200,000 move to The Hornets, as the summer transfer window nears its close at the end of the month.

However, the West Yorkshire club have stated that no offer has been received from Vicarage Road for Spring.

Leeds boss Kevin Blackwell added that the club have rebuffed interest in a number of their players from a variety of clubs.

"We've had three or four managers ring up about some of our players, but at the moment, we are not interested in letting anybody leave the football club," Blackwell told the club's official website.

"We do not have a big enough squad as it is, so really we are not considering offers."
