Hornet signs new deal

Watford midfielder Anthony McNamee has signed a new one-year contract.

Watford midfielder Anthony McNamee has signed a new one-year contract.

The 21-year-old spent a month on loan at Barnet last season as he struggled to get into the first team squad at Vicarage Road.

New manager Adrian Boothroyd included McNamee in his squads at the end of last season, and he has been given another 12 months to prove himself.

The left winger says that he is determined to show he is worthy of a place in The Hornets' side.

"A new deal seemed a long way off at the end of last season," McNamee told the club's website.

"I've got another chance to impress and get myself in the team this season.

"I just enjoy playing football and hopefully this year I will be able to get myself in to the team and really show what I can do."
