Millwall have expressed an interest in signing Nottingham Forest striker Marlon King.

King looks set to leave Forest after being placed on the transfer list at the end of last season.

The 25-year-old spent the last two months of last term on loan at Leeds United and King has been told he does not figure in Gary Megson's long-term plans.

Lions boss Steve Claridge is looking to bolster his squad and has made an enquiry for King.

"He is a player we have asked about but, as with all the players we want to bring in, we might be looking for a bit of help from their club to get things moving," said Claridge.

Millwall are thought to be looking to take King on a season-long loan while Forest are hoping to sell him to raise funds.

The Lions could face competiton for King with Watford also thought to be in the running for his signature.
