Hornets boss Ray Lewington offered the 20-year-old right back new terms and the youngster was delighted to sign and stay on with the Vicarage Road side.
"I'm delighted to be staying,'' Smith told the club's official website.
"It's a two-year deal so during that time I should develop into a senior player and cement my place in the team."
