WYCOMBE WANDERERS have been dealt a pre-season blow with the news that Jonny Dixon could be out for four months, while Lawrie Sanchez is running the rule over four trialists.
Dixon has had to go under the knife to cure a rare blood circulation problem he had, which meant that his calf muscles were feeling numb after matches.
The operation should cure the problem but he will be out of action for three to four months.
Chairboys boss Lawrie Sanchez says that the news is a bitter blow for the club and the 19-year-old striker.
"It's unfortunate for the lad and the team," said Sanchez.
"But now we know what the problem is hopefully he can be put right and push on when he comes back."
Jermain McSporran should be fit enough to play against Tottenham in a friendly on Saturday, and he will be joined by four hopefuls.
Former Kingstonian striker Luke Fontana is one of the hopefuls looking to impress Sanchez enough to earn a contract.
Crystal Palace defender William Antwi, Watford's Barry Mathews and Stephen Dell will also get a game against Spurs as Sanchez looks to bolster his squad.
