Italy defender Angelo Ogbonna is expected to undergo a medical at West Ham in the next 48 hours, Sky sources understand.

The Juventus player had been linked with a move to Premier League rivals Everton by several media publications, but he appears set to become Slaven Bilic's latest signing instead.

Ogbonna is expected to cost West Ham between £8m and £10m and will give the Hammers added versatility at the back, being comfortable in the middle and at left-back.

The 27-year-old has 10 caps for his country and spent his formative years in Torino's system, going on to make 147 appearances before crossing Turin to join Juventus at the start of the 2013/14 season.
