West Ham boss Sam Allardyce wants to move on from his recent tactical dispute with Manchester United manager Louis van Gaal.
Van Gaal was upset about his team being called “long-ball United” after the teams’ 1-1 draw at Upton Park.
The Dutchman produced a dossier of statistics at his Wednesday press conference which he felt proved Allardyce’s team played more long balls that his own during that game.
Sky Sports reporter Gary Cotterill presented Allardyce with a copy of the dossier at his own press briefing but it seems the West Ham manager is keen to put the issue behind him.
“I shall have a look at that when I get the opportunity,” said Allardyce. “Thank you very much.
“I don’t think there’s any point in me going into it again, it is what it is and he’s made of it what he’s made of it.
“I said what I saw on the day but we’ve moved on – we’ve played another Premier League game since then and the focus for us now is on the FA Cup and trying to progress to the next round.”
