Lazio are in talks to sign midfielder Ravel Morrison from West Ham, according to Sky sources.

West Ham have told Morrison, whose contract expires in the summer, he can leave for free this month despite the fact he has an £18m buyout clause in his contract, with the London club reportedly only asking for a percentage of any future sale.

Two Premier League clubs and three clubs in Europe are trying to sign the 21-year-old, although a dispute between Morrison and West Ham over one month's wages of £60,000 is holding up any potential deal.

Morrison insists he is owed the money while the club claim they have deducted it from his December salary as payment of club fines. Morrison has called the PFA in to mediate.

The mdifielder returned to West Ham last month after an unsuccessful loan spell at Cardiff and has been training with the U21 development squad, having not played for the Hammers since the August defeat to Southampton at Upton Park.

He has also had loan spells at Birmingham and QPR since signing from Manchester United for £650,000 two years ago.
