Sochaux coach Mecha Bazdarevic hopes to add "one or two players" to his struggling squad in the January transfer window.
The Ligue 1 side are second bottom of France's top flight and have won just twice since September.
Scoring goals has been a continuous problem for Les Lionceaux, who have not netted a single effort in their last four outings.
They have been linked with Paris Saint-Germain striker Peguy Luyindula and Lazio defensive midfielder Lorik Cana.
Quality
Bazdarevic told
L'Est Republicain: "I want one or two quality players. I'd be happy to recruit (Lorik) Cana.
But the Sochaux boss revealed that there is nothing to report on the Luyindula-front: "I was asked about this one-and-a-half months ago and it seemed interesting.
"There was a lead but we have not spoken again since."

Meanwhile, Sochaux's troubled striker Modibo Maiga and his agent Karim Aklil have landed themselves in more bother after the player was absent from training.
Chairman Alexandre Lacombe was also due to meet Aklil on the same day, but the agent did not turn up to the appointment.
Lacombe gave his reaction to
L'Equipe: "It is intolerable. He has just put himself out of the group. I knew we can't rely on him and he has just confirmed it."
But the chairman refused to blame Maiga for the club's failings this season: "Our problems are not only with Maiga...it would be too simple.
"There were other incidents, where individuals believed they were more important than the group. For those who don't want to be part of it, there is no trouble. My door is open and we would find a solution for them to leave.
"We will go to war with the ones who want to. There will be no tolerance about misbehaviour."
