Skysports.com understands West Ham are poised to sign Ivory Coast international Guy Demel. Demel is available on a free transfer after Hamburg agreed to let him move on. A number of clubs have been linked with the 30-year-old, but West Ham have won the race for his services. Former defender Demel is thought to have agreed a three-year deal at Upton Park. West Ham boss Sam Allardyce is keen to bolster his squad before the transfer deadline as he looks to build a side capable of winning promotion. Demel had a short spell at Arsenal earlier in his career and it now looks like he will have a second crack at life in England.
