Striker could not agree terms with Old Lady

Juventus have failed in their bid to sign AC Milan striker Marco Borriello after a deal could not be agreed. The 28-year-old forward wanted to move to the Old Lady on a permanent basis but Juve were only willing to take him from the Rossoneri on loan. Borriello is now in talks to join fellow Serie A outfit Roma, as Robinho's arrival at Milan has pushed him down the pecking order at the San Siro. Juve general director Beppe Marotta said: "The Borriello deal was like many others in that we could only sign him on a temporary basis so we did not pursue it." Meanwhile, a move for defender Kakha Kaladze has also broken down and Marotta does not expect to make any signings before the end of the transfer window. He added: "Our market is closed."
