Mexican club confirm West Ham have not made offer for full-back

Pumas have denied that West Ham have made a bid for Mexico international defender Efrain Juarez. Juarez and team-mate Pablo Barrera have both impressed during the World Cup finals and have been linked with moves away from the Mexican club. Lazio have made a move for winger Barrera, while West Ham have been strongly linked with a swoop for full-back Juarez. "We know that during a World Cup many teams eye players and ask about them, but we have to stay calm because sometimes it's only that," Pumas sports director Mario Trejo said.

Offer

"We will only consider anything if they have a real interest once they send us an offer. " Trejo confirmed Lazio's interest, admitting: "We have received a fax in our offices sent by Lazio in which they asked us about the situation of Pablo Barrera and if there were any chances of starting a negotiation. "Our president has answered that Pumas accepts to talk about negotiations so it is supposed that in the next hours they should send us an offer." And on the interest in Juarez, he added: "The same happens with Efarin Juarez. We haven't received any offer but his agent has said to us that some teams have approached him asking about the player but they haven't sent anything to us for the moment."
