West Ham United manager Alan Curbishley insists he wants Anton Ferdinand to remain at the club.
Ferdinand has been strongly linked with a move to Premier League rivals Sunderland, and skysports.com understands he is considering an offer from the Black Cats.
Curbishley has said that the England Under 21 international remains in his plans, but refused to confirm or deny reports of a bid for the defender.
"All this week Anton has been training trying to get himself fit," he told Sky Sports News.
"That is as far as it goes for me. At this moment in time he is a West Ham player.
"Yes, I would like to think [he will be a West Ham player in just over a week's time].
"No [I don't want to lose him]."
