Cazorla cancels out Cole's early strike

West Ham United and Villarreal shared the Bobby Moore Cup after a 1-1 draw at Upton Park. Carlton Cole had given the Hammers a first minute lead, but Santi Cazorla levelled before half-time. The Hammers were quick to make the breakthrough as striker Cole finished from close range following good work by Matthew Upson and Matt Etherington. Villarreal caught the eye at times and forced Robert Green into a smart save from Gonzalo Rodriguez's header on 14 minutes. Cole almost had a second on 34 minutes before Villarreal levelled two minutes later as Cazorla gave Green no chance from eight yards. With nine minutes to go, a flowing move almost gave the Hammers a winner, but Freddie Sears was denied by Diego Lopez. And the Hammers nearly snatched a winner in injury-time only for Upson to head wide from Julien Faubert's corner.
