Luis loving West Ham life

Luis Boa Morte claims his transition from Fulham to West Ham has been seamless.

Luis Boa Morte claims his transition from Fulham to West Ham has been seamless, but he is eager to give the Hammers faithful something to cheer.

The struggling Hammers splashed out a sizeable fee to lure the Portuguese forward to Upton Park last month and his first impressions of East London have been positive.

"I've enjoyed my time here so far," said Boa Morte. "I've felt very welcomed by everyone and I feel happy and settled."

The Hammers are in relegation trouble at the foot of the Premiership and Boa Morte admits the players have to dig themselves out of trouble.

"We haven't won and that's been unfortunate," he added. "We have collected some points but we're looking forward to putting together a winning run.

"The atmosphere here is really good. The supporters are really passionate and they want to get behind the team.

"Of course they get frustrated when things don't happen but we always work hard to give them something to cheer about - we want to give them something to be happy about.

"We need the fighting spirit."
