Brian Laws says West Ham's interest in Chris Brunt is a lift for the player and Sheff Wed.
Brian Laws believes West Ham United's interest in Chris Brunt is a lift for the player and Sheffield Wednesday.
The winger has been watched by Hammers scouts this season, although there is no suggestion of an imminent bid from the Premiership club.
Brunt has impressed for The Owls in recent months, particularly since Laws' appointment as manager at Hillsborough.
Laws is not surprised that clubs are taking an interest in his players, but has not fielded any enquiries for Brunt.
The managerial upheaval at West Ham could put any bid on hold, although Laws is happy the Northern Ireland international is receiving recognition.
"I haven't heard anything about this, but this sort of thing is always likely to happen when your team are doing well," Laws told the Sheffield Star.
"It's a lift for Chris and for us, because it shows how well we're doing, and I've said before that he is capable of playing at the top level."
Meanwhile, Laws is thought to be willing to hand veteran keeper Mark Crossley a short-term contract at the club following his loan spell from Fulham.
