Town have Noble intentions

Jim Magilton intends to speak to West Ham about re-signing Mark Noble.

Ipswich boss Jim Magilton intends to speak to West Ham about bringing Mark Noble back to Portman Road in January.

The midfield schemer established himself as a firm fans' favourite in the three months he recently spent at Town, on loan, prior to returning to Upton Park in November.

Since returning to his parent club Noble has not figured in West Ham's first team but the sacking of Alan Pardew means his future at the Premiership side is now cast in further doubt.

"I spoke to Alan last week about the possibility of Mark coming back here and at that stage he was not prepared to let that happen," Magilton told the club's official website.

"Obviously things have changed at West Ham but I'm certainly interested in bringing the lad in.

"He was very popular at this club and did a good job for us and I know that some of the players here have remained in touch with him.

"We will see how things go but it's a possibility that Mark could be here in January."
