Anton Ferdinand admits he is dreaming of representing England at the 2010 World Cup finals.

The West Ham defender has been to Germany to cheer on elder brother Rio and the rest of the Three Lions side but he harbours strong hopes of forcing his way into the squad for the South African jamboree in four years' time.

Speaking to Sky Sports News from Wimbledon, Ferdinand relayed the message that confidence is high in the England camp.

"It's definitely one of my dreams to play in the World Cup and, hopefully, at the next one, I'll be involved," the impressive 21-year-old stated.

"I've been to the games. I spoke to Rio and spent time with him yesterday.

"Yeah, he's enjoying it, he is happy he's through to the next round and is just enjoying himself.

"I think he's played very well in the games he's played in. I hope his form continues and for the team to go on and win it.

"The boys, I think, are confident. They know they've got to play better than they have done but, if they keep getting the results, nobody's going to be complaining.

"Everyone needs support and definitely me and him are close on and off the pitch.

"I'm there for him when he needs me."
