Millwall boss Colin Lee has offered Don Hutchison a short-term contract.Millwall boss Colin Lee has offered Don Hutchison a short-term contract ahead of the new Championship season.
The former Scotland international has been training with The Lions this pre-season following his release from London rivals West Ham United.
Lee was happy to hand the former Liverpool, Everton and Sunderland player a chance to prove himself at The New Den this season, as he looks to make his first signing since succeeding Steve Claridge as Millwall boss recently.
"We've been checking Don's fitness because he hasn't played regular football for a while, and we've decided to give him a chance by making him an offer of a short-term contract," Lee told the club's official website.
"If that's acceptable to Don, he'll be having his medical in the morning and providing there's not a problem with that, he'll be signing on Friday."
The former Wolves and Walsall boss is also keen on finding some goalkeeping cover for number one Andy Marshall.
"If we can get these two (deals) done, it gives us something to build on and we can concentrate on improving the squad further," Lee added.
"We're not just planning for Leeds but looking further forward.
"We'll continue to look for players, and particularly a couple of experienced ones to help the younger players along."
