Cheltenham Town have signed youngster Andy Gallinagh to a contract for next season.

The 20-year-old has been a regular in the club's reserves this season, having come through the youth ranks at Whaddon Road.

His consistency in the club's second string has prompted Robins boss John Ward to hand him terms for the following campaign.

"Andy has had a good season for the reserves, although obviously with Jerry Gill and Brian Wilson in the first team, he has not had any opportunities at that level," Ward told the club's official website.

"But next season he is the sort of player who may get an opportunity because of the transfer window.

"We have offered him terms for next season and he has accepted, so we look forward to working with him again next year."

Meanwhile, Ward's search for new faces has seen him hand trials to West Ham United youngster Sosthene Yao and Birmingham City midfielder Davion Hamilton.

Yao had a previous trial with League One side Barnsley this season.
