Bobby Zamora scored on his debut as West Ham United picked up a 2-1 victory against Bradford.

Bryan Robson's team had opened the scoring and battled manfully against The Irons - but were beaten by two second half goals.

Peter Atherton's 35th minute goal separated the sides - the veteran firing home from the edge of the area.

Zamora, who arrived at Upton Park as part of the deal that took Jermain Defoe to Spurs, came on as a second half substitute and within 20 minutes of taking to the pitch had levelled the match.

The former Brighton man headed home from a Christian Dailly cross on 65 to give West Ham the momentum they needed.

Marlon Harewood then wrapped up the victory with the second, slotting home through Alan Combe's legs on 78.
