WEST HAM UNITED have agreed to let Grant McCann stay on loan at Cheltenham Town for a third month.

The 22-year-old, who has been at the club since October 4, had been set to rejoin The Hammers after this weekend clash against Brentford.

McCann will now remain at Whaddon Road till January 4, although The Upton Park outfit have the option of recalling the youngster at 24 hours notice.

Meanwhile, manager Graham Allner will be without the services of Richard Walker for a number of weeks, after revealing the versatile star underwent an operation on his knee.

The 31-year-old has been out of action for The Robins since injuring his knee against Port Vale at the back end of October.

"The operation went well and again they found no major problems," revealed Allner. "It's been very frustrating for everyone.

"There were a couple of frayed edges and some fluid was removed, but there is nothing seriously wrong.

"Hopefully Richard will be able to step up his training now. If everything goes well then hopefully he will be back playing in three to four weeks."
