BAYERN MUNICH starlet Owen Hargreaves has been rewarded for his sterling Champions League semi-final performance against Real Madrid with a place in the England Under-21 squad for the friendly with Mexico.

The tenacious midfielder is one of 27 players named in the party for the May 24 clash, and also the championship qualifier against Greece on June 5.

There is a blend of experienced and less experienced performers included, with the likes of Gareth Barry and Seth Johnson rubbing shoulders with youngsters such as Jermain Defoe and Coventry keeper Chris Kirkland.
