Portsmouth in double swoop

Image: James Dunne: High exceptions

Portsmouth have taken midfielder James Dunne and goalkeeper Michael Poke to Fratton Park on two-year deals.

Dunne, 24, joins Pompey from Stevenage having spent the second half of last season on loan with St Johnstone, while Poke, 28, has left Torquay following their relegation to the Conference. Portsmouth boss Andy Awford told the club's official website: "James is a player that I've admired for the last 18 months and enjoyed a very successful spell in Scotland last season. "I've watched him play on a few occasions and am delighted that he's agreed to join us - especially as there were clubs from higher leagues interested in him. "Michael is a good all-round goalkeeper, who will come in and provide decent competition."
