Charlton defender Chris Solly is on Team Great Britain's long list for this summer's Olympic Games.
GB boss Stuart Pearce has written to Solly to check his availability and the 21-year-old full-back, who signed a new two-year contract last week, says he would jump at the chance to be involved at London 2012. "I was absolutely shocked when I received the letter," he told the club's official website. "I'm delighted to be on the long list,and if I was to make it I would be over the moon. It would be a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for me. "I've no idea how long the list is but just to be recognised in that group is a pleasure and a privilege."
