Yeovil manager Terry Skiverton believes Spurs striker Jon Obika has improved after his various loan stints at Huish Park.
Obika has netted 14 of his 17 professional goals with the Glovers, at a goals per game ratio of one strike every three-and-a-half matches. Compare that to his combined spells at Millwall, Crystal Palace, Peterborough and Swindon - where he scored on average once every 10 appearances - and it is remarkable how Skiverton continues to inspire the frontman. Most recently, at the end of last season, Obika was unwanted by Swindon after failing to net in five outings, only to go back to Somerset and rediscover his prolific self. And Skiverton thinks he knows why that happened. "Maybe what I had over them is that I gave him his debut, when he scored his first league goal," he said. "It was a very exciting thing when he first came down. "I don't know why, when he went to Swindon, it didn't work out and it ended up in our favour. When Swindon let Jon go he came to us and scored three goals and I think set four up, and Swindon couldn't get a goal after that. "It's been very unfortunate for him this year because he's come back and he got a bit of a bad injury. But he's back now and he'll be looking start scoring again."
