Swansea midfielder Mark Gower has revealed he is close to signing a new deal at the Liberty Stadium. Gower has been one of Swansea's unsung heroes this season with the Welsh outfit impressing in their first season in the Premier League. The 33-year-old's current deal expires at the end of the season and Swansea have moved to offer him an extension to keep him at the club. Gower is hopeful he will be able to put pen-to-paper on the deal later this week. "I have been offered an extension which hopefully I will get signed this week so things are looking good at the moment," Gower told Sky Sports News. Swansea earned an impressive point at Liverpool last time out and they take on Manchester United in their next game after this week's international. Gower insists everyone at the club is looking forward to the visit of United on 19th November. "We are getting some accolades as we are playing some good football and we looking forward to games," added Gower. "We are unbeaten in three games, we got a great point against Liverpool and with Manchester United next it does not get any easier, but all the players and coaching staff are looking forward to the game." Swansea were tipped for relegation at the start of the season, but Gower is confident they can establish themselves in the Premier League. "We want to finish as high as we can and at the moment we are doing alright. "We are tenth in the league and we deserve to be where we are at the moment and hopefully the club can be a Premier League club on and off the pitch for years to come."
