Simon Francis' move from Charlton to Bournemouth has fallen through after the right-back failed to agree personal terms.
The Addicks accepted a bid last week for the 26-year-old, who subsequently has not travelled to Spain for the club's pre-season training camp.
But after a week discussing personal terms on the south coast, both Francis and Bournemouth have been left in stalemate.
Charlton chief executive Stephen Kavanagh told the club's official website: "It's been a week since Bournemouth started talking to Simon and although we've done everything possible to make the deal happen, it seems they are unable to agree a deal."
Francis arrived at The Valley from Southend last summer for £35,000 and made 43 appearances during his debut campaign.
