Gary Megson helped convince latest signing Jose Semedo that Sheffield Wednesday were the right club for him.
Former Charlton midfielder Semedo, who signed a three-year deal with the Owls on Thursday to become Megson's fourth summer signing, turned down offers from other clubs to join the Owls.
Semedo, 26, told the club's official website: "I spoke to Gary Megson in London a few weeks ago and was really impressed by what he had to say and his ambitions for the club.
"There were other clubs interested in me and there were other offers, but I have a really good feeling about Sheffield Wednesday.
"I have met my new team-mates and they have made me feel very welcome."
