Sullivan targets Elliot's spot

New signing John Sullivan has issued an early warning to Charlton number one Rob Elliot that he will fight for his place.

Sullivan completed a free transfer to The Valley from Millwall after failing to dislodge Irish international David Forde from between the posts. And after a loan spell at the Addicks at the end of this season, the former Brighton stopper insists he will not be warming the substitutes' bench. He told Charlton's official website: "I'm not here to sit on the bench. I've done a few years of being in and out of teams. For me now, it's about trying to nail down a first-team spot. "I respect Robbie but there would be no point my signing if I was coming here to sit on the bench. My aim is to get in the team and that was the aim when I was at Brighton, at Yeovil and at Millwall."
