Addicks chief hopeful of penning new deals for duo

Charlton Athletic manager Phil Parkinson says he is working hard to keep hold of Scott Wagstaff and Christian Dailly. Wagstaff has returned to The Valley for pre-season training despite being out of contract, but Parkinson revealed talks over a new deal are ongoing with the midfielder. Dailly has yet to report back for the gruelling period ahead of the Addicks' League One opener against Bournemouth on August 7. But the Athletic manager is hopeful he can keep hold of the veteran defender, who joined the club on a Bosman deal last July. Parkinson told the South London Press: "We're close to agreeing a deal with Scott. We'd like to keep him. "I would like Christian to stay and we're working hard to make that happen."
