Southampton have snapped up defender Frazer Richardson from Charlton for an undisclosed fee.
The 27-year-old right-back has agreed a three-year deal to link up with Alan Pardew at St Mary's.
The move will come as a blow to Charlton's hopes for next season as Richardson was one of their most consistent performers last term, but with money tight at The Valley Saints' offer was accepted.
"Southampton expressed an interest in me and then made an offer to Charlton that I don't think they could refuse," Richardson told Southampton's official website.
"I'm thoroughly delighted to be here."
