Youngster signs up for another 12 months

Alex Stavrinou has signed a new contract at Charlton Athletic, keeping him at the club until 2011. The promising midfielder has put pen to paper on a one-year deal, having impressed the club's coaching staff. The 19-year-old, who is a product of Charlton's youth academy, signed his first professional contract last summer and has done enough to earn fresh terms. He spent the majority of last season out on loan at Blue Square Premier side Ebbsfleet United, where he made over 20 appearances. Addicks boss Phil Parkinson kept close tabs on his development while he was away from The Valley and is pleased with the progress he has made. Stavrinou will now be looking to add to the two first-team appearances he made for Charlton last season.
