Gillingham boss Mark Stimson remains hopeful of adding Charlton Athletic striker Chris Dickson and Northampton Town defender Danny Jackman to his squad.
Dickson is a long-term target for Gills following a previous impressive loan spell at Priestfield and Stimson has seen an offer for the forward rejected.
Charlton have floated the possibility of a swap deal involving Simeon Jackson, but Stimson is determined not to lose his top scorer.
Jackman, meanwhile, has had a transfer request rejected by Northampton and Stimson is waiting to see if there will be any positive progress regarding a double deal.
"We want to make them happen, but we've just got to sit and wait for clubs," Stimson told Kent Online.
"We rate these players at a certain price and hopefully there are no other people interested in them.
"We hope the player and the club can sort something out and let's get something done.
"The chairman is waiting on a phone call from the Northampton chairman to say it's going to happen or it's not going to happen.
"As for the Charlton one, I don't know. There have been some things about a swap. I don't know if there are games being played at the moment, but we've just got to concentrate on what we're doing."
