Charlton Athletic have released six players, but have offered new deals to four members of the squad, including Matt Holland and Zheng Zhi.
Following relegation from the Championship, the Addicks have moved to reduce the wage bill by letting six members of Phil Parkinson's squad leave the club.
Darren Ambrose, Nicky Weaver, Svetoslav Todorov, Harry Arter, Aswad Thomas and Rashid Yussuff have been released, but talks are taking place with Holland, Zhi, Jonathan Fortune and Darren Randolph.
The Addicks' football club chairman Richard Murray also revealed that talks are ongoing in an attempt to improve Parkinson's squad ahead of next season in League One.
Murray told the club's official website: "In light of the club's financial situation, we have to talk and discuss the future with every out-of-contract player and their agents, and there are quite a few in this category this summer. Of course, at the same time they have every right to talk to other clubs as well.
"We have made a number of firm decisions, but are also having talks, which are ongoing, with Jonathan, Matt, Darren and ZiZi.
"What's more, while that process continues, the coaching staff and scouting team are identifying players we may want to bring to the club, and we are also talking to a number of other clubs, players and their agents."
Midfielder Ambrose is expected to sign for local rivals Crystal Palace, while Arter and Thomas are tipped to join non-league Woking.
