Ivorian striker set for Standard switch

Charlton are reported to be in talks with Belgian outfit Standard Liege in regards to Zoro Cyriac Gohi Bi. The Ivorian starlet is believed to be a hot prospect for the future, but does not meet the criteria required to play in England. For that reason it appears as though the Addicks are prepared to part with the talented teenager they picked up from the famed ASEC Mimosas academy. Gohi Bi is currently away on international duty at the junior African Cup of Nations, but is aware that his future looks likely to lie away from The Valley. "I am at the African Cup of Nations now, but after that I will talk about Charlton and Standard," he told skysports.com. "At the moment I am a Charlton player and I can confirm that I will not be playing in the Ivory Coast this year. "My dream is to play at the 2010 World Cup and for that to happen I need to be playing outside of the country."

Dream

Meanwhile, another of Charlton's Ivorian youngsters, Bakary Soro, has been ruled out for the remainder of the season. The defender has been impressing while out on loan at French side Lorient this season, with work permit problems preventing him from turning out for the Addicks. He now faces a frustrating spell on the sidelines as he nurses a knee injury, but remains optimistic about his future in England. "I started well with Lorient, the coach trusted me and gave me a chance, but that is life," said Soro. "I am disappointed for Charlton at the moment because I cannot help them. "It is my dream to play in the Premier League, though, and one day I will get there."
