Full-back's stint at Charlton cut short by shoulder injury

Charlton Athletic have cut short Jay McEveley's loan spell after the full-back aggravated a shoulder injury. McEveley joined the Championship strugglers on a three-month loan deal from Derby County at the end of November. He originally hurt his shoulder against Coventry last month, but battled through the pain to return against Queens Park Rangers on Boxing Day. However, McEveley suffered another setback during Saturday's 2-0 home defeat by Nottingham Forest and he has now been sent back to Derby. During his time at the Valley, the left-back made six appearances in the Championship after arriving as part of a deal which saw Luke Varney head to Pride Park.
