Hearts are exploring a loan move for Rangers winger Alan Gow, skysports.com understands.
Gow is seeking to secure a move away from Rangers before the closure of the transfer window after a disappointing spell at Ibrox.
The 25-year-old came close to a move to Burnley earlier this summer only for the deal to fall through at the last minute, while Norwich also held talks with the Scotland B international.
Hearts are believed to have made an enquiry for Gow as manager Csaba Laszlo looks to bolster his squad.
Laszlo has made a new midfielder his top priority and he is hoping to strike a deal to take Gow on loan at Tynecastle.
However, Rangers are only likely to be willing to sell Gow and there is interest from several clubs in England.
Gow is thought to favour a move South as he looks to get his career back on track after not being given a chance to shine at Rangers.
Nottingham Forest and Cardiff are thought to be keeping tabs on Gow and could move for the former Falkirk man before the transfer window slams shut at midnight on Monday.
