Charlton Athletic manager Alan Pardew says he has not spoken to Plymouth Argyle full-back Paul Connolly.

Pardew has been linked with a summer swoop for Connolly, whose Home Park contract expires at the end of the season.

But the Addicks boss is still finalising his targets for next season and has not been in touch with Connolly, or his representatives.

"I don't know how these rumours begin, but at the moment we haven't contacted any agent or any club or player for next year," said Pardew.

"We're waiting for a budget to come though to see who we can talk to and who is available to be talked to legally, then we'll make any decisions."

Meanwhile, Charlton defender Grant Basey has signed a new contract to stay at the Valley until 2010.

Basey made his first-team debut for the Addicks last October after starting the season on loan at League Two side Brentford.
