Russell Slade wants James Walker for the rest of the season and has also brought in Scott Spencer on trial.

Everton youngster also returns for another trial

Russell Slade hopes to keep James Walker at Yeovil Town for the rest of the season and has also brought in Scott Spencer for another trial. Walker has been on loan at Yeovil from Charlton since October and has extended his stint until 19th January. But Glovers manager Slade confirmed he is keen to agree a deal to hold on to the young striker until May. "We will have to wait and see," Slade told the club's official website. "These bigger clubs have their own agenda and you have to wait until they have found their targets. "Sometimes as a smaller club you have to wait and see how that unfolds for them, but we are hopeful that we can extend it."

Spencer potential

Meanwhile, Slade is taking another look at Everton youngster Spencer, who trained with the League One side in November. He added: "Everton have kindly allowed us to look at Scott again during the next month so we can see how he develops not only in full training but in matches. "We have seen potential in Scott and this period will allow us to cast our eye over him for a longer period."
